چکیده
The effects of railway operation on soil environments are an important topic. In this research, samples were collected from two diesel-driven railways and electric in Japan. A positive matrix factorization (PMF) model was applied to investigate the sources eight heavy metals near railways. results showed that dominant anthropogenic source study areas among five potential sources, with contributions ranging 11.73% 42.55%. Compared electricity-driven railways, effect larger. environmental risk-assessment analysis suggested soils selected fall within weak-to-extremely strong contamination category, experienced moderate-to-extremely ecological risk. health risk assessment revealed presented both noncarcinogenic carcinogenic risks for children, ingestion as principal exposure pathway. PMF-Environment Risk Assessment PMF-Human Health models developed obtain human every category. Railway regarded major factor influencing ecology at sampling sites. However, sites, natural dominant.

Source apportionment of PM2.5 in Beijing by positive matrix factorization
Air pollution associated with atmospheric fine particulate matter (PM2.5, i.e., particles with an aerodynamic diameter of 2.5mm or less) is a serious problem in Beijing, China. To provide a better understanding of the sources contributing to PM2.5, 24-h samples were collected at 6-day intervals in January, April, July, and October in 2000 at five locations in the Beijing metropolitan area. Both...

Data from the Total Exposure Assessment Methodology studies, conducted from 1980 to 1987 in New Jersey (NJ ) and California (CA) , and the 1990 California Indoor Exposure study were analyzed using positive matrix factorization, a receptor -oriented source apportionment model. Personal exposure and outdoor concentrations of 14 and 17 toxic volatile organic compounds (VOCs) were studied from the ...
متن کاملOccurrence, risk assessment, and source apportionment of heavy metals in surface sediments from Khanpur Lake, Pakistan
Background: The present study was carried out to assess the seasonal variations, source apportionment, and risk assessment of heavy metals (Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Pb, and Zn) in the surface sediments from the Khanpur Lake, Pakistan. Methods: Composite samples are collected and processed to measure the concentrations of heavy metals in Ca(NO3)2 extract and acid extract of the sediments using flame ...
متن کاملSource apportionment of airborne nanoparticles in a Middle Eastern city using positive matrix factorization.
Airborne nanoparticles have been studied worldwide, but little is known about their sources in the Middle East region, where hot, arid and dusty climatic conditions generally prevail. For the first time in Kuwait, we carried out size-resolved measurements of particle number distributions (PNDs) and concentrations (PNCs) in the 5-1000 nm size range. Measurements were made continuously for 31 day...
متن کاملComparison of PM2.5 source apportionment using positive matrix factorization and molecular marker-based chemical mass balance.
A comprehensive comparison of positive matrix factorization (PMF) and molecular marker-based chemical mass balance (CMB-MM) modeling on PM2.5 source contributions was conducted for particulate matter measurements taken at Jefferson Street, Atlanta, Georgia (JST). The datasets used in each type of receptor modeling were different: CMB-MM used data of primarily organic tracers plus a couple eleme...
